Akina Hinata (日向 秋奈, Hinata Akina) is a character in the anime and manga series Keroro Gunso.

She is the kind and caring grandmother of Fuyuki and Natsumi. She, like Fuyuki, believes in paranormal activity in the form of forest spirits.

History

When Akina was very little, her grandmother passed away, making her the one person Akina really wanted to see. Akina later had a child of her own who she named Aki. She raised her in a small house a long way from the city so trips to Inner Tokyo were very expensive and long. She most likely accepted Haru and Aki's wedding and when her grandkids were born Aki made sure to always bring them to visit their Grandmother. Fuyuki, when he was younger, spent most of his childhood living with Akina in her home.

It was shown in an episode that before Keroro and the others arrived on Pekopon, she met Dororo and was saved by him. At first, Dororo kept following the younger Akina who he still didn't know yet, but he seems to have seen her before. Akina was playing with her dog, Dez, when it was raining heavily. Under some circumstances, Dororo saved her, and as a reward, Akina gave him a bucket full of food. He finally realized that the female he met earlier was the younger version of Akina.
