Enter The Sergeant (第壱話 ケロロぐんそーであります。…の巻 Dai ichi-banashi Keroro Gunso de arimasu.... No maki) is the 1st chapter of the manga series, Keroro Gunso.

Synopsis[]

During the start of their morning, the Hinata children come across a mysterious alien- who wants to invade the entirety of Pekopon! What is the fate of Earth?

Plot[]

Fuyuki Hinata dreams about destruction overtaking the world as shadowy figures of the Keroro Platoon invade Earth. The leader of the platoon, Keroro, shoots Fuyuki's sister, Natsumi. However, he soon wakes up to reality thanks to his sister, who is alive and well in real-life. Fuyuki says he frequently recurs the same dream every night, and claims that it is a sign that real aliens are arriving to Earth. Natsumi denies this though, and budges him to wake up for school. As her little brother slips back into sleep, she decides to trick him. Natsumi points at a blank wall and shouts that there is an alien, to wake up Fuyuki.

Thinking that he has been defeated, Keroro pulls his disguise, (which is conveniently coloured as Fuyuki's bedroom walls), and reveals himself to the two siblings. The two capture Keroro and tie him up Fuyuki's ceiling. Natsumi decides that they have to deal with Keroro after school, as they are running late. Fuyuki notices that he has acquired the Kero Ball from Keroro, and awaits to test it out later. Meanwhile, the alien intruder breaks free from his ropes and plans for his next attack.

When Natsumi arrives home, she falls for a trap created by Keroro and is unable to move. He demands for the Kero Ball, however Natsumi does not have it. Therefore, he attempts to attack her with a Space Leech. Though, right in the nick of time, Fuyuki jumps in and saves Natsumi using the Kero Ball. As Keroro's invasion fails, the Hinata siblings tie him up with rope for the second time.

Fuyuki strikes a deal with Keroro. He states that he would give the Kero Ball back, if Keroro decides to be their friend. Without hesitation, Keroro answers yes, but of course with hidden malicious intents. Suddenly, the Kero Ball beeps, and a message from the Keron Army announces that they will not be rescuing Keroro or his platoon.

Pathetically, as Natsumi quotes, Keroro surrenders and asks if they could be friends.

Differences from the Anime[]

  • While Natsumi is hanged upside down in the manga, her skirt was pulled down by the gravity, revealing her underwear. In the anime, her skirt remains intact.
  • In Enter The Sergeant, only the Hinata children meet Keroro. However, in the anime, Aki Hinata, their mother, meets Keroro as well. She later on encounters him in the next chapter, An Audience with General Mom.
  • Natsumi's friends, Satsuki Shiwasu and Yayoi Shimotsuki, discuss about Natsumi's athletic skills and her love life. But in the manga, the two friends talk about how exciting it would be if aliens attacked them.
  • In the anime, Fuyuki is shown to be more sympathetic towards Keroro. In the manga, he zaps Keroro on purpose, while in the anime, he accidentally zaps him.
  • Keroro captures both Natsumi and Fuyuki in the manga. Although, this only begins to happen in An Audience with General Mom.

Trivia[]

  • After Fuyuki's dream, the book cuts to the table of contents, before switching back to reality.
