Karara (カララ) is a character in Keroro Gunso.

Character[]

Karara is the daughter of the head of the big Dobaba Industries (similar to Momoka Nishizawa to Nishizawa Corporation). Her appearances in the anime typically consist of her comedic attempts at marrying the members of the Keroro Platoon.

In the manga she appears exclusively in just one chapter, in-which she never ends up developing an obsession with marrying the platoon members. Her relationship with some characters is different, too. With her being an apprentice to Taruru instead of a childhood friend.

Relationships[]

Chiroro[]

She and Chiroro appear to be close friends. Karara referred to her as her "best bud" in episode 121, where Chiroro was introduced. In the same episode, she also appeared to be very concerned when she had lost track of Chiroro whilst they were playing tag together with Viper. She had later shown the Keroro Platoon an album full of photos of her and Chiroro hanging out in order to help them find her as she was supposedly "kidnapped" by Viper, proving them to be best friends.

Chiroro appears to tag along with Karara whenever she visits Pekopon, in the same way that Taruru did until he joined the Garuru Platoon.

Taruru[]

This section mainly talks about Chibi Taruru, and not his adult form.

In episode 77 it was revealed that she and Taruru are actually childhood friends, which was the reason why he decided to come along with Karara to help her in her attempt to getting married to Tamama.

In episode 94 she and Taruru returned to Pekopon thanks to Karara now attempting at marrying Kururu. After running around the secret base, they later find the weapons room and wreak havoc together before eventually being stopped from the consequences of their own mischief.

After Taruru grows up and joins the Garuru Platoon, Karara and Taruru are never seen interacting again. Karara also doesn't seem to mention Taruru's name again, and vise verca.

In the manga, Taruru is Karara and also Chiroro's upperclassman that they both look up to.

Tamama[]

Tamama is the first Keronian that Karara meets after crash-landing onto Pekopon in episode 65. She learns about the Keroro Platoon from him and lies about how she came to Pekopon to join the platoon.

After spending some time with Tamama, she later grows respect for him and begins to call him "Tama-nii" (-nii being an honorific typically meaning "elder brother" in Japanese), saying that she admires him in the same way one would admire their elder sibling. Karara is later punished by Kururu and trapped is in a maze. Tamama eventually flies in and comes to the rescue which causes Karara to fall in love. At the end of the episode, Natsumi and the others find out Karara is infact a girl from the Tanabata wish that Karara had wrote, saying that she wants to marry him when she grows up.

Karara returns in episode 77 and attempts to get married to Tamama. The episode features him trying to make Karara hate him and have her return back to Keron; with each of his plans failing.

When Dobaba came to pick up Karara, she refused and told her father of how much she loved Tamama. Tamama then thought that they were destined for eachother from her dedication, and tried to protect her. However, Tamama's impact was no use against Dobaba's heavy-type ship. Karara then fell in love with Kururu due to his cannon destroying Dobaba's ship, and told Tamama to completely forget about everything that had happened today; thus making her lose her crush on Tamama, much to Tamama's despair.

When Karara returns in episode 94 alongside Taruru, she still seems to respect Tamama despite what happened the last time she came to Pekopon, and Tamama now seems to have a neutral opinion of her. She was put under Tamama's watch alongside Taruru, until eventually he lost track of the two.

Up until episode 180, the two didn't seem to interact with eachother too much after the events of episode 77. In episode 180, Karara becomes yet another rival to Tamama for Keroro's love, with the two now being sworn enemies.

Kururu[]

In episode 65, Kururu seemed to not have a very great opinion of Karara; with him punishing her by trapping her in a maze that he invented. Albeit he still had the heart (if he even has one at all) to fix Karara's mech for her to be able to return to Keron.

At the end of episode 77A, Karara had developed a crush on Kururu and said she would come back to marry him, in-which she did in episode 94. Kururu, however, ignores Karara's attempts at impressing him, being uninterested.

Dororo[]

Dororo saves her and Taruru's lives at the end of episode 94, which in typical Karara-fashion, makes her fall head-over-heels for him.

When Karara returns once again in episode 121, coming to Pekopon alongside her best friend Chiroro, it is revealed she had and Chiroro had went through special ninja-art training for the sake of impressing Dororo, in-which Dororo is indeed impressed by her refined ninja abilities. Dororo later saves Karara from a "Viper", which is later revealed to be Keroro.

Giroro[]

At the end of episode 121, Karara had unintenionally fallen into Giroro's arms in a birdal-carry manner, which was enough to make Karara fall for him, much to Giroro's despair.

In episode 135, she and Chiroro once again return to Pekopon thanks to them running away from Nagomi, and also because Karara; as always; wanted to marry Giroro. Giroro was stressed out about this because he was already in love with someone else.

Keroro[]

At the end of episode 135, in a twisted turn of events, Karara falls for Keroro, and returns for the final time in episode 180 to try and marry him.

Dobaba[]

Dobaba is Karara's father.

She seems to not have a very great image of him as in episode 65, Dobaba (albeit as an illusion) chased her and threatened to kill her in the maze that Kururu created, In-which Kururu said himself that maze will have an illusion of whatever is the victim's biggest fear.

Her typical appearance. Karara is a young tadpole, lime-colored Keronian. She wears a purple cap with cat-like points on her cap. Her eyes are shiny, similar to Tamama's except it's colored mint green. She has light-pink colored blush on her cheeks. Her symbol is a prohibition sign facing horizontal which is purple on her belly and yellow on her forehead, likely a counterpart to Chiroro's no entry sign.

Ninja Attire[]

In this attire that she wears exclusively throughout episode 121, she now wears a white mask on her face, a white bandana around her neck, a black ninja-styled outfit that features her horizontal prohibition sign in yellow on her chest, black socks with a pink colored stripe, white shoes, and black and pink cuffs around her wrists. She also wields a sword that is attached with this very outfit.

Personality[]

Karara is very energetic and mischievous, Karara has a habit of making anyone in trouble to those are around her. However, she often gets in trouble and panics about her strict father, Dobaba. In episode 180; her last appearance alongside Chiroro, she is now irritated and animosity towards Tamama and begin a rivalry with him, to win Keroro's heart.

History[]

Between her appearances, Karara's love always switches its object from one to the other relatively easily, and so she has fallen in love with every Keroro Platoon member one by one. This is usually triggered whenever one of them saves her life, and when she does, she completely forgets about her past love.

She first comes to Earth being mistaken for a boy and thought to be sent to join the Keroro Platoon, and is taken under Tamama's wing, ranked Private Third Class[RANKS] for a short while.

After realizing that she only came to Earth because she got lost in her father's special space vehicle, Tamama has Kururu fix it up so she can go back to Keron. Shortly after her leave, they realize that she is a girl from a paper wish that she wrote saying that she will become Tamama's bride. She came back later and fell in love with Kururu/Kululu.

From then on she repeatedly came back to Earth in attempts marry the members of the Keroro Platoon.

In episode 77, she came back to marry Tamama, with Taruru also tagging along. Tamama made many desperate attempts to make her hate him and go back to Keron but failed. At sunset Karara's papa, Dobaba, came to take her home. Karara rebelled against her father and proved to Dobaba how much she loved Tamama. At that moment Tamama thought that maybe they were meant to be together and tried to protect her. However, Tamama's impact was no use against Dobaba's heavy-type ship. Before Karara's papa could grab her, Kururu used a cannon to protect them. Karara then fell in love with him. Karara said that she was going back to Keron with her papa to train to be Kururu's wife.

In episode 94, She came back for Kururu with her childhood friend, Taruru.

Since this time she'd asked for her father's permission, Keroro told Tamama to watch them but they ran off. They wander around the base and cause all sorts of trouble. Everyone looked for them and with help from Karara's training to be Kururu's wife unlocked them the secret weapon but ended up blowing it up with Dororo having to save them and thus she ended up falling in love with Dororo. This episode was loosely based on Karara's debut appearance in the manga, in which she and her friend Chiroro escaped from elementary school to meet the Keroro platoon, as they had heard of their victory against the Garuru platoon.

Karara as a ninja

In episode 121, she came back to marry Dororo, this time with her friend Chiroro (who went through ninja training with her, who also appears in every other Karara - centric episode from then on). They went to Dororo's house when Viper came to get revenge dressed up like Dororo. Eventually becoming annoying with their childish antics, he discarded his disguise and ran away, the two of them following suit. The real Dororo found Karara during the chase and discovered that she had come with Chiroro, who she had separated from while they were chasing Viper. Worried that Chiroro along and assigns her 'homework' he believes to be impossible, only to have her complete it in front of him Being reminded of the son he once had, Viper grows attached to her and promises to 'teach' her. The Keroro Platoon and Karara found the two of them at Alien Street. discovering that Karara was not the one who had been kidnapped caused Keroro to dress like Viper and have the platoon save her for the reward from her dad. Chiroro begged Viper to save her and he did. Giroro caught Karara and she fell in love with him.

In episode 135, she came back because she was running away from Nagomi and to marry Giroro, in a twist of events she ended up falling for Keroro.

In episode 180, she came back to marry Keroro, making an all-out war between her and Tamama. Mois broke up the fight and Karara went back home, promising she'd be back to marry Keroro.

She and Chiroro made a short cameo appearance in Kero 0: Depart! Assembly of Everyone!!, where she got very bored in their classroom with Chiroro getting embarrased at this whilst 556 and Lavie were leaning and watching outside of the window.

Abilities[]

In her first debut, after she failed trying to perform her technique, Karara Impact just like Tamama's Tamama Impact, she has an ability to spit a bubble-like energy ball from her mouth after her tail is stepped on.

Also, in order to impress Dororo, she took and completed the Space Ninja Assistant training course, and has some ninja abilities like the use of ninja weaponry,  extreme agility, use of ninja stars and  transformation into her ninja attire. Also, since her father is the head of the Dobaba Industries, she has learned to pilot and use robots at a young age.
