Keroro Series

Keroro (ケロロ) is a Flash anime that first aired on March 22nd 2014 on Animax and had all of the original voice cast team from Keroro Gunso reprise their roles except for Tomoko Kawakami who passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 2011. They were aired on the segment "Keroro Hour", and they are shorts with an average duration of 3 minutes.

Sunrise, which had worked on the Past Keroro Gunso anime TV/Film Series, produces the series in cooperation with the Flash animation company Gathering.

The series was originally announced at the "Keroro Birthday & New Project Presentation" Event in Tokyo on December 9th 2013. The Theme Song is called "Keroro Pop Star"

It ended on September 6th, 2014, though it was hinted that a new season (or a new anime series) would begin sometime in the future, but since 2015, it has yet to happen.

Trivia[]

  • Fuyuki looks much younger in this series, making him look more like a sixth grader.
  • This series is another adaptation of the original manga, ignoring the anime original story elements of the first anime like Mutsumi's secret identity. However, it still makes minor references to elements from the first anime and avoids naming the city where the events take place (Musashi in the manga, Inner Tokyo in the previous anime).
  • The Musashi name was mentioned in the teaser video for the series, but didn't make it to the show itself.
  • Just like in the manga, the animation has thick outlines and thin lines inside.
    • The show also features realistic 3D backgrounds, similar to Archer.
  • Many fans mistook this series as a continuation of the old series, even though it is not.
  • The character designs are closer to the manga art style, but they often wear completely new signature outfits.
  • The reason why these episodes are called Files is because that files refers to downloads or saving things, because this anime is animated with Flash.
  • Natsumi wears a school uniform based on the design from early in the manga (the KS on her outfits stand for Kissho), although with different colors. Meanwhile, Momoka is briefly shown wearing the uniform from the original anime and later manga chapters in a flashback from one episode.
  • As of now, this is the last Keroro Gunsou anime series, as no newer anime series have ever been announced since 2015, despite the final episode saying "Go to Next!" saying that there will be another anime series. This is due to Mine Yoshizaki going low tide from then and having only a few improvements (except the anime version of Kemono Friends, even though it was successfully adapted by Tatsuki, whom have ended their cooperation mysteriously).
