This mini-essay debates with the usage of Keroro Gunso over Sgt. Frog.

Point 1: Keroro Gunso vs. Sgt. Frog: That's what they do on Wikipedia[]

Reasons:
"They" didn't even reach consensus
wikipedia:Keroro Gunso was just redirect by a user without even an edit summary[1]. This is also the case in naming Keroro as wikipedia:Keroro (character) and redirecting wikipedia:Keroro to wikipedia:Sgt. Frog. Did this have a consensus, or even a discussion about it?
Naming guidelines and popularity
According to wikipedia:WP:NAME#Use English words, "...unless the native form is more commonly recognized by readers than the English form." Perhaps most of us knew that the name "Keroro Gunso" is more popular than "Sgt. Frog." Hey, that's what they do in Anime News Network. Do a Google search. Search for "Keroro Gunso" and "Sgt. Frog." "Keroro Gunso" returns results in excess of 650,000 pages, while "Sgt. Frog" returns only about 210,000 pages.

Point 2: Keroro Gunso vs. Sgt. Keroro (and variants): Localizations[]

Reasons:
Why localize?
Yoshizaki made the manga in Japan, its language is Japanese. Then an anime. Well you would say this is the general case in anime, why not localize? Keroro Gunso, aside from doing parodies from other Japanese works, it also deals a lot with Japanese culture.
We're few, indeed
Most of Keroro Gunso fans are in Japan, of course. They can buy them Gerogerogero merchandise anytime they like at local stores.

Point 3: Keroro Gunso vs. Keroro Gunsō vs. Keroro Gunsou: Long vowel usage[]

Reasons:
The keyboard
Keroro Gunso, of course, wins over Keroro Gunsō by simplicity upon typing. In a wiki, it takes away tens of calories from your finger scrolling down the page to press the ō.
The convention
Of course by convention English users would prefer Keroro Gunso over Keroro Gunsou. Imagine pronouncing Gunsou as Gunsoo. Ha.

Of course, this last point is debatable and may be defeated by consensus.
